Our Code of Conduct

Members make a commitment to engage with other members.
Members actively reach out to each other, participate in programs and online discussions, and respond promptly to other members emails/calls.

WOMOG members are respectful and professional at all times and in all situations.
Members will not engage in any conduct or take any action, written or oral, that will reflect negatively on or harm the reputation or business interest of other Woman Owned Greenwich members.

Members conduct business in a meaningful, legal and ethical way.
Our members shall have the highest level of character and ethics.

Non-solicitation of other members.
While appropriate business development and relationship building is encouraged, solicitation is not. Solicitation complaints and concerns will be reviewed by the Steering Committee.

Woman Owned Greenwich is founded on the principle of 'Give to Get'.
Members should not expect other members to make referrals or provide extensive assistance before a meaningful relationship, founded on mutual respect, knowledge of each others' businesses, expertise and quality of work is firmly established.

Sharing of member contact information.
Members understand that Woman Owned Greenwich is about relationship building and that their contact information is shared with other members for that purpose. Member profile and contact information is for the sole use of fellow members to facilitate relationship building and cannot be used for marketing/mailing purposes, nor can private member profile information be shared for any reason.

A safe place for private discussion.
Members are encouraged to openly discuss their challenges, successes and areas of concern. The privacy of these discussions is paramount. Members do not jeopardize another member’s business or personal privacy or safety.

Risk assumption.
Members understand that following the advice solicited from and given by another member(s) is at the sole risk of the member and no one member will be held liable by another.

Freedom of Association*
Because most meetings are in small groups or one-on-one and may take place in member's homes, Woman Owned Greenwich respects and recognizes a member's right and the overall right of Woman Owned members to Freedom of Association, a fundamental right protected in the US Constitution.*

Failure of a member to uphold the letter and spirit of the Code of Conduct could result in membership suspension or cancellation and is at the sole discretion of the Board.

Violations of the Code of Conduct
Reports of violations of the Code of Conduct must be submitted for Steering Committee review using an online Incident Report. To request an incident report, please contact greenwich@womanownedct.com.
